Costa Rica Wedding photography FAQ

How will I photograph your wedding?
I, Toh Gouttenoire (creator and main photographer of BiDropCom) will photographs your wedding with a perfect blend of photojournalism style (candid) and a touch of traditional (posed) photography to create beautiful 'memorimages' that you and your family will enjoy for a lifetime.
I approach wedding photography with the spirit of photojournalism, capturing the natural, true moment and reflect the excitement, laughs, tears... All the emotions of your day, will be fixed gracefully on your wedding photos so that future generations can see how it really happens.
While wedding photojournalism and candid shots are the hallmark of BiDropCom, we are aware that you may also want various traditional posed photos such as bride alone, groom alone, bride and groom, families groups... Don't worry : it's your day and we'll work with you to achieve the photography style and poses that fully correspond to you.
Your wedding photos will be an impressive,creative visual narrative of your wedding day.

How many photos will you take ?
That depends on a number of factors including how much time you have asked us to spend at your wedding, how many photographers you requested and the nature of your wedding. In generale you should plan on roughly 50-60 photos per hour for a single photographer.

Can I get my photos in black and white ? What about sepia ?
Yes, with our digital workflow every picture on your DVD every photos will be present in black and white, color and sepia.

How long will it take to get my photos?
In most seasons you should have photos within 2 weeks from your wedding date.

Is retouching included ?
Yes ! You go to a lot of effort to look your best on your wedding day and we take it a step further - smoothing away blemishes, brightening smiles and more. If you have a specific feature that you would like to minimize, such as a tattoo, please let us know before your date. We can take extra care with posing to minimize theses features.

Do you use digital photo equipement or shoot with film and then scan ?
We use an all professionnal digital workflow, providing crips, clear photos that make beautiful prints up to even very large sizes.

Are there travel expenses ?
No except if you are outside of Guanacaste, contact us for infos.

Can I speak with some of your past customers ?
Absolutely. Because we respect the privacy of our customers, we will not publish their private information on our website. If you like references, please call or email us.

Who keeps the wedding negatives and copyrights?
Our clients receive the unmarked negatives and copyright with all packages at no additional charge. All digital images can be printed at a professional lab or even at home using photographic paper.

How many wedding photographers come with your packages?
We provide one wedding photographer with every package. An additional candid photographer is available for a fee, ranging from $200 - $600.

Should I make a list of my desired photos for the wedding photographer?
Bidrop.com Wedding Photography requests a list of photos of family combinations and desired Bride and Groom shots to insure all wedding photos are to be taken. In the past, some clients have cut out photos from magazines to insure the wedding photographer had an illustration of the desired shot on the day of the wedding.

When do we pay the final balance?
Bidrop.com Wedding Photography is proud to accept final payment on wedding date at the conclusion of the afternoon or evening.

Does your company have any online wedding albums ?
Bidrop.com Wedding Photography provides all clients with an online private album of about a third of your total photos. Print from these photos can be order on line.

Are you the person who will be taking my wedding pictures?
Yes! I will always be the person taking your pictures. I don't hire other photographers to cover dates for me. I will often bring an assistant to help transport equipment and do some set up work, but I will always be taking your wedding photographs.

Do you know of great beach spots or a place for a small ceremony? What about helping finding us a minister, or any other services we need?
YES to all! Just contact me if you need any more info!

What area of Costa Rica are you most familiar with?
I'm most familiar with the Tamarindo/Langosta/Flamingo/Papagayo and the Lake Arenal / La Fortuna areas. But I also been shooting on the caraibean side. I am open to shooting in other areas .
Do you check out the location beforehand?
Yes! Knowing or not the wedding site, I will be at your wedding location between 30 minutes and an hour early to check everything out , meet your families, and find the best spots for some formal photographs.

We would like to meet you before the wedding. Is this possible ?
Yes! We would be able to sit down in person and talk about your wedding anywhere from a few days before to just the day before depending on your travel plans. Don't hesitate to call me also ! I understand the stress ( and fun ! ) of wedding planning .

Can you tell me more about Wedding BiDrop.com Photo Video?
It has been created in 2004 by Toh Gouttenoire, a professionnal photographer and videographer living in Central America since 2000. He is now established in Playa Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. BiDrop.com is now often employing various photographers and videographers, depending of your needs, they are always recognised professionnals, with strong experiences in the different domains we offer: photography and videography. For years Toh Gouttenoire, creator and main photographer of Bidrop.com, as been photographing and videotaping throughout Costa Rica.

Who are you?
I am Toh Gouttenoire is a French image maker. I studied three years of cinematography in France specialized in camera and lighting, going on to work in many production as DP, AC and Grip. He has spent the last nine years in Central America, where he has established himself as photographer and videographer. Bidrop comunicacion is dedicated to offer professional and modern high quality photography and videography in Costa Rica.
